"Pressure is a privilege."

Hi, my name is Heeya and along with being the Creative Director at The Cubby, I'm also a creator. I tend to experiment with different and sometimes untraditional mediums as forms of art in order to push the boundaries of how art is defined. My work explores society as a construct built by us and comments on how we interact with it. My interest in philosophy seeps into my art as questions such as, **"does free will truly exist?"**, **"what defines a human experience?"**, and **"can one experience something in a fully objective manner?"** develop my artistic identity. My work aims to highlight parts of us we may have lost or no longer value, and serves as a critique on how we function.

One of my greatest inspirations is Yuval Noah Harari, a historian and author whose books serve as an analysis of us as a species through the exploration of topics such as why we can interact in large groups and how constructs were formed and still persist. The philosophical thinking tied into his books often informs my work. I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Design and Technology at Parsons School of Design, and this has opened my work up to synthesize art with technology, as well as understanding where natural or innate attributes derive from in order to find creative solutions for how they can be translated into a digital setting.
